WHO WE ARE
Step into the inviting warmth of history at the Park House, located in the Deutschtown neighborhood on Pittsburgh’s North Side. Just a short walk from PNC Park (home of the Pittsburgh Pirates) and Acrisure Stadium (home of the Pittsburgh Steelers), the Park House is one of Pittsburgh’s original public houses, operating under what is believed to be the oldest active liquor license in Pennsylvania. It features an original stamped tin ceiling, wood paneling and bar which, combined with its recently-completed renovations, make for a wonderfully welcoming space in which you can actually feel the history!
The Park House is a great place to meet friends or grab a bite to eat. Our full-service bar delivers great draft and bottled beer, fine wine and handcrafted cocktails. We feature live music from Pittsburgh’s vibrant community of musicians, and offer an eclectic mix of vintage soul, blues, Americana, and rock. You will always feel comfortable at the Park House, whether you drop in for one of our vinyl nights (where patrons spin their own records), to catch the game on one of our three big screen TV’s, or to hear some great live music!

OUR HISTORY
Built between 1892 and 1898, the Park House was constructed by and for Allegheny County Jail Deputy Warden James Marshall in the Richardson Romanesque style. Marshall and his family lived upstairs and rented the first floor to a number of different retail tenants, including at least one saloon.
During prohibition, the Park House was home to a bakery and a candy store but when prohibition ended in 1933, two local residents quickly obtained one of the first liquor licenses to be issued in Pennsylvania and reestablished a tavern at the location, creating the Park House.
Over the years, the Park House has gone through several transitions with different owners. Each era of the Park House has shared a common theme, however, and that is to offer a cozy place where friends gather and good times happen! The Park House has had many famous patrons, including professional athletes and sports broadcasters, and has been the site where many wonderful memories have been created.
The current iteration of the Park House honors its history and carries on the tradition of delivering great food, drinks, and good times! Stop by and join us in creating more great memories!
